Vanessa Kanbi was born and raised in Edinburgh by a Scottish mum and Ghanaian dad. She has always been keen to hear untold stories and help them reach an audience. This lead to the creation of her own YouTube Channel in 2017. Vanessa's YouTube channel has had over 2 million views. She documents her travels Ghana and explores life in Ghana.
Vanessa has featured as a contributor and presenter on CNN's Great Big Story, BBC Scotland's documentary 'Back and Scottish', STV's 'Scotland Tonight', BBC Scotland's 6 episode TV Show 'The Peoples News', BBC Radio Scotland's 'Bad Parents Club' & BBC Five Live 'School Runnings'. She has created content for large broadcasters such as BBC The Social She is a self shooting director.
The Magnificent Mothers Podcast is Vanessa's brainchild. She realised that there was a gap in the market when she felt alone following the birth of her second child. On The Magnificent Mothers Podcast, Vanessa interviews mums about their life stories and experiences to help inspire other mums and make them feel less isolated.
Vanessa has no shame in admitting that she became a mum at the age of 20. She is passionate about breaking the stigma of young mums as she completed her degree in Criminal Justice and had a full time modelling career whilst raising her son. Vanessa is now a married mum of two.
