Vanessa Kanbi was born and raised in Edinburgh by a Scottish mum and Ghanian dad. She has always been keen to hear untold stories and help them reach an audience. This lead to the creation of her own YouTube Channel in 2017. Vanessa's YouTube channel has had over 500,000 views. She documents her travels, family life and everything in-between.
Vanessa started creating content for BBC The Social in late 2018. She comes up with the idea's then scripts, films and edits her own videos for them. Her videos for BBC The Social have had over 300,000 views on Facebook alone.
The Magnificent Mothers Podcast is Vanessa's brainchild. She realised that there was a gap in the market when she felt alone following the birth of her second child. On The Magnificent Mothers Podcast, Vanessa interviews mums about their life stories and experiences to help inspire other mums and make them feel less isolated.
Vanessa has no shame in admitting that she became a mum at the age of 20. She is passionate about breaking the stigma of young mums as she completed her degree in Criminal Justice and had a full time modelling career whilst raising her son. Vanessa is now a married mum of two.
